Library
The department of Zoology is enriched by a collection of over 430 numbers of text books and reference books to cater the need of both UG & PG students. The library provides reference and text books and provides lending facilities to students and teachers. Besides, the students can get access to different e-resources including N-LIST membership from central library. Further, some e-books are also made available online based on availability and demand of students.
Laboratory & Museum
The department of Zoology has a modern laboratory facility to carry out all major practical classes as per syllabus and other advance researches in the field of Fisheries, Entomology, Physiology and Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Ecology and Environmental Biology etc. Besides it also avails of the facilities in the Institutional Biotech Hub for doing some practical & research work.
The museum of zoology department has around 200 specimens, 100 slides of different species/organs/body parts & 10 life cycles of different organisms. The zoological museum has a remarkable collection of invertebrate specimens like Porifera, Coelenterata, Platyhelminthes, Aschelminthes, Arthropoda, Mollusca and Echinodermata and Amphibia, Reptilia, Fish and Mammals from among the vertebrates.
Other Activities
Department conducts regular student seminar, group discussion, remedial classes, educational excursion, mentoring of students, after identifying slow/advance learners. Further, on regular basis invited talks as well as interaction (both offline/Online) between the students and eminent scientist/professors are being conducted every year. Regular parent – teacher meet is also conducted by the department for the exchange of academic information to make a bridge between teachers-parents-students for the academic well being of the students during their stay in the college for UG courses in particular.
