On 21.03.15 the NSS Unit of our college organised a cleanliness drive in the college campus and in the departments. The programme was organised on the line of Swachha Bharat Abhijan launched by the government.


On 25.03.2015 the NSS Unit of Handique Girls’ College organized a day long programme on AIDS in the college campus. In this programme different competitions like Poster Competition, Slogan Competition, Quiz Competition, and Speech Competition on AIDS were held. The faculty of our college Mr. Madhav Ch. Talukdar and Dr. Pranab Bujarbarua judged the competitions.
The NSS volunteers of our college also went to Rajapanichand village. The NSS volunteers of our college organized different events among the students of both the Rajapanipnichand Lower Primary School and High School. Besides, the volunteers delivered lecture amongst the students about cleanliness and took part in the clean campus drive organized there. The teachers of both the schools also participated in the event.


On 16th December 2015, the 10 NSS volunteers of our college with ethnic seven sister dress took part in a programme organised by Vyakti Vikas Kendra India-North east Apex Body which was attended by Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji.
On 29th January, 2016 eight NSS volunteers attended the Youth Conclave organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in collaboration with National Service Scheme at the sports complex of Gauhati University. The theme of the Conclave was Skilled Youth-Empowered Assam.
NSS unit of the Handique Girls College organized a Group Discussion competition among the students of the college on 05-04 2016 on some of the burning topics of present day social responsibility viz. Development Vs Environment , Tolerance Vs. Intolerance, Digital India, Ethnic Problems of Assam, Smart City and Smart Village, Sexual harassment etc. The faculty members of the college Dr. Juthika Das, Mr. Madhab Ch. Talukar, Dr. Pori Hiloidari and Dr. Archana Sarma were the judges of the competition. Prizes include cash award along with mementoes and certificate to the best three teams.



NSS unit of the Handique Girls College organized a health camp in the college campus on 07.04.2016 in collaboration with International Hospital, Guwahati. Dr. Mithun Bhartia (Endocrinology) Dr. Rituporna Baruah (Cardiology), Dr. Maileng Tham (Gynaecology) attended the OPD consultation and the health talk on diabetes, cardiac problem and gyane disorder. The teachers, office staff and the student availed the free heath check up and attended the heath talk session delivered by Dr. Mithun Bhartia (Endocrinology) Dr. Rituporna Baruah (Cardiology).





On 11.05.16 the Unit organised a special village camp at Jabe-Patgaon village, near Rani. The volunteers led by Programme Officer visited the Jabe-Patgaon L.P. School. The volunteers organised drawing competitions, reciting competition amongst the students and distributed prizes. Besides, the volunteers distributed pencil boxes and colour pencils to all the students (60 students) of the school. The unit also donated a large globe and two large maps of India and Assam to the school. The volunteers gave an orientation of dance to the students and delivered lecture on cleanliness. The volunteers planted flower saplings in the garden arranged by them in the school campus.






On 4th June, 2016 on the occasion of World Environment Day, 5th June, the NSS Unit and Environmental Audit Cell of Handique Girls’ College in association with Seva, Guwahati based NGO organised a plantation programme in the college and hostel campuses. The volunteers and other students including the teachers planted saplings of Radha Suda, Amlakhi, Jamu, Madhuriam etc.
On 9.2.2018 the Unit in collaboration with Assam State AIDS Control Society organized a Poster making Competition on the occasion of National Youth Month.
On 20 Feb, 2018 a programme was organized along with AIDS Control Society, Assam to observe National youth Day at the college. Officers from AIDS Control Society, Amanjeet Kaur, DGP (traffic), Dipankar Mahanta, entrepreneur, Jublee Baruah, singer, Mukul Gogoi, Secretary Health and Family dept. Gov of Assam attended the programme.
The Unit organized a Special Camp at Daimugiri village from 9.3.18 to 15.3.18 which was attended by 21 volunteers. Clean drive, competition amongst the students, cultural programme, free health check in collaboration of Downtown Hospital and distribution of medicine etc. were undertaken.
Four NSS volunteers attended a programme on Youth Unrest Prevention of Drugs Addicts by Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare at Dispur from 16.3.18 to 23.3.18.
From 16.03.18 to 25.03.18 the Unit organized one Self Defense Training programme in the college campus.
On 03.04.18 the unit organized an orientation programme where Dr. Ranjan Kakati, NSS Coordinator of Gauhati University deliver lecture.
On 23rd March, 2018 the Unit undertook clean drive programme.
On 27th April 2018, the unit undertook campus clean drive programme at the college.
19 volunteers participated in the Summer Internship Programme in the month of June, 2018 at Kajalichouki village.
