Upon successful completion of this certificate course, participants will be able to critically evaluate and select appropriate research topics and designs for studies in Arts and Science streams. They will be proficient in upholding ethical standards in all phases of research, including avoiding plagiarism and properly managing IPR. Participants will gain practical skills in formulating clear research questions and testable hypotheses, collecting and managing both primary and secondary data, and using Excel for basic data handling. A major outcome is the ability to analyse quantitative data using descriptive statistics and conceptualize basic inferential statistics like t-tests and chi-square, as well as apply content analysis for qualitative data. Furthermore, participants will be able to present data effectively through visualization techniques and craft high-quality scholarly writing by understanding the structure of a research paper, organizing literature logically, and adhering to major referencing styles (APA, MLA, Vancouver). The course will also provide exposure to ICT applications in research, different tools for statistical analysis, research scholarships, and the ethical implications of using AI in research
