Established in 2025 as a part of M.Sc. specialization the facilities of this laboratory are dedicated to the advanced studies of plant diseases and microbial diversity. We provide a vibrant scientific atmosphere where students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge with practical and research in this field. Our laboratory integrates mycological and bacteriological modern tools and techniques which help the students to understand and deal with contemporary challenges in Agriculture, Environmental Science and Biotechnology. We are committed to promoting the next generation of scientists, researchers and teachers of botany equipped with important skills required to understand and manage complex interactions between plants and microbes.
To become a centre of excellence in research and training at college level, which makes an important contribution towards understanding plant-microbe interaction and producing sustainable options for managing plant health.
The aims of the Plant Pathology and Microbiology Laboratory are:
To accomplish our aims, we are working towards the following specific objectives:
Our laboratory is well-equipped to support advanced teaching and research activities. Key facilities include:
Sterilization: Autoclaves, Hot Air Ovens
Culture & Incubation: Laminar Air Flow Hoods, Biosafety Cabinets, BOD Incubators, Orbital Shakers
Microscopy: Compound Microscopes.
General Equipment: High-Speed Centrifuges, Spectrophotometer, pH Meters, Precision Weighing Balances and a comprehensive collection of stains and reagents.
We are planning to organize Workshop, Seminar, Industrial visit and Lab visit for the students to enhance their knowledge aligning the aims and objectives of this laboratory.
