Jyoti Narayan Nath, an eminent actor and also an expert thespian is known for his work Rainbow Fields(2018), NilamotirBiya(2008) and Burbokor Khel- Game of Fools(2022). He visited the Department of English on 16th of February 2024 to deliver a talk on the nuances of drama. Nath began his conversation with an intricate discussion on the fundamentals of drama. Later he focused on theatre and the human body, voice, body movements, basics of performance, and, script writing


The 4th semester students of the English Department presented a performance of the 18th century play ‘She Stoops to Conquer’ by Oliver Goldsmith at Damdama College as part of student exchange programme under the MOU signed between HGC and Damdama College on 12th March 2023

A class seminar/presentation was organized for the FYUGP Fourth Semester (Minor) students on 1st April, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The session focused on the detailed study and analysis of Charles Dickens’ novel Hard Times, which is part of the prescribed syllabus. The objective of the programme was to enhance students’ critical understanding of the text while encouraging active participation and collaborative learning.
